Olympus Tough TG-860 

 

The Olympus Stylus Tough TG-860 features a slanting selfie screen, plus a front shutter release button, and a side tripod socket.

It’s waterproof down to 15 metres, shockproof from 2.1 metres, as well as featuring an specially wide-angle 5x visual zoom lens.

The Olympus Stylus Tough TG-860 updates the TG-850, and adds built in Wi-Fi and GPS, and increases the waterproof rating down to 15 metres, whilst other features remain the same, including the ultra-wide angle 21mm equivalent 5x optical zoom lens, 16 megapixel sensor, and a tilting 3inch screen.

The Olympus Stylus Tough TG-860 is waterproof to 15m, which is an increase over the 10m waterproof rating of the TG-850.

The Olympus Stylus Tough TG-4 features a bright f/2.0 4x optical zoom lens, and a front ring that can be removed to let you add a variety of different accessories, including a ringflash adapter. The camera can shoot raw photos, and has built-in Wi-Fi and GPS.

Fujifilm FinePix XP90

 

The Fujifilm FinePix XP90 offers great value for money, as well as being waterproof down to 15m, shockproof to 1.75m, and features built in Wi-Fi, a 5x optical zoom lens, a larger 3inch screen, and Full HD video recording. The Fujifilm FinPix XP90 is available for around £128.

The Fujifilm FinePix XP90 is this year’s update to the XP80. Not much has changed from the XP80 to the XP90 model, although the camera now has a larger 3inch screen compared to the 2.7inch (460K dot) screen on the XP80, whilst still maintaining a compact size and weight. The design is also improved with a slightly more premium finish and colour detailing.

Fujifilm FinePix XP80

 

 

The Fujifilm FinePix XP80 offers excellent value for money, as well as being waterproof down to 15m, shockproof to 1.75m, and features built in Wi-Fi, a 5x optical zoom lens and Full HD video recording. The Fujifilm FinPix XP80 is available for around £125.

The Fujifilm FinePix XP80 features a 16 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, a wide-angle 5x optical zoom lens, equivalent to 28-140mm in 35mm terms, and optical image stabilisation to aid taking photos in less than ideal light.

The camera has been updated to include a new Wi-Fi remote shooting feature, making it compatible with the Fujifilm Remote Shooting app.

Interval timer shooting has been added as well as additional advanced filters. On the rear of the camera is a 2.7inch screen with an anti-reflective coating to help make it easier to see outdoors.

Ricoh WG-5

 

The Ricoh WG-5 is waterproof to 14metres, shockproof to 2.2m, and available in a number of colours with or without GPS built-in. The camera has a front LCD screen that displays the time, and there are 6 macro LEDs surrounding the lens.

Like the WG-4, the WG-5 GPS has a 16 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor, along with a 4x optical zoom lens, equivalent to 25-100mm in 35mm terms.

The lens is bright with an f/2.0 aperture at the wide-angle end of the lens to allow as much light in as possible. The camera also features shake reduction (SR), with sensor shift based image stabilisation.

The camera has a rugged design, being waterproof to 14m, shock resistant from 2.2m, is freezeproof to -10 degrees C, crushproof up to 100kgf, as well as being dustproof.

Six LED macro lights surround the lens, to enable close-up macro photography illumination, with the camera focusing as close as 1cm away from the subject.
